We are brought together by God to share
the love and warmth of God’s presence with all of God’s
people. Based on the
UCC General Synod’s 1985 Open and
Affirming resolution, we declare ourselves to be Open
and Affirming; that is, we welcome all individuals into full
membership in our congregation. Our hearts are open to
everyone as we seek to integrate those from different races,
cultures, ages, abilities, sexual orientations (lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and heterosexual ) and gender identities (transgendered,
male, female) into the matrix of our congregation. Full
membership includes opportunities for:
Holding positions of leadership in our congregation
Celebrating committed relationships (Weddings)
Teaching Christian Education classes and leading
youth activities.
Our Faithwalk Center is a reflection of our belief
that our spirituality is connected to our commitment to social justice
issues. Here our members are given the opportunity to use their gifts of
ministry in compassionate service, to become living expressions of God’s
love and compassion. We also continue our commitment to the United Church
of Christ as we live into the motto taken from Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21
“…that they may all be one.”
